Injecting Luminosity into Dull Winter Skin

In this current UK weather, my skin is really feeling the effects of the cold and windy weather and it is just lacking luminosity and any kind of life so I've discovered some products which have really been helping me to fake the glow.

The Balm Mary Lou Manizer Luminzer
This has to be one of my favourite highlighters I've ever tried. The golden sheen it gives without a ton of glitter provides a perfect glow to the skin whilst being situated in the cutest packaging with a lovely big mirror inside for any touch ups! The highlight looks the best popped on the top of your cheekbones but I also enjoy using it on my Cupid's bow, my eyebrows, the inner corner of my eyes and if I'm really looking to inject some glow I'll pop a bit down the bridge of my nose! This retails for £16 at Feel Unique.

17 Skin Wow 3 Way Highlighter
This liquid number is perfect as it can be used multiple ways to inject some life back into the skin. The main way I like to use it is to put it all over my face underneath foundation as I find that this way it creates a nice base for foundation and the glow shines through. However you can also use it as a concentrated highlighter on the tops of cheekbones like I mentioned with the previous product but I prefer to use other products for this as I find this one can be a bit too liquidy for that purpose! I also enjoy mixing this in with certain foundations for extra radiance, especially if the foundation has more of a matte finish to it. This is available from Boots for £5.99.

YSL Touché Éclat Highlighter/Concealer
This product is one of the most well known and most sold in the whole industry. It is a highlighter and concealer hybrid that banishes under eye circles and helps to create the Kim Kardasian esque flawless finish! There are many drugstore alternatives to this such as the Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer and The L'oreal Lumi Majique Concealer but none really compare to the YSL one in my opinion. If you want to use this to inject radiance, the key is to create a triangle underneath the eyes and blend it in for a brightened under eye area, you may also want to try buying this in the shade lighter than your foundation for a more highlighted and brightened look. This retails for £25 at John Lewis.

MUA Mosaic Powder in English Rose
The lilac parts in this blusher create such a soft focus and illuminated glow when this is applied to the cheeks. If you want a cheap way to brighten your makeup I would really recommend picking this up! It does have quite a lot of sheen to it so if that's not your scene then I wouldn't bother with this one but for the price, it's worth a try! It's available at Superdrug for just £2.50.

Accessorize Merged Baked Blusher in Scandal
I'm not too sure whether this is still available online but I've seen it in superdrug stores still! The highlighter than is merged with the blusher in this compact creates a beautiful glow when it is applied to the cheeks. I love the way this looks and whenever I need a go to blusher, I always choose this one! I would really recommend this to anyone and the quality of these blushes is fantastic as well! These can be found in store at Superdrug.

Bourjois Java Rice Powder
For you oily skinned girls, even though sometimes injecting glow may seem scary it can also come in the form of a powder! I find this powder is great at controlling shine and also prolonging the wear of my makeup whilst it also provides a soft focus glow on my skin as it has tiny bits of shimmer in the powder. This is also great if you want to add some glow and life back into your skin but in a more subtle matter. This retails for £9.99 at Boots.

Garnier Miceller Cleansing Water

Oh just another trying-to-be-bioderma product is what most people seem to think whenever they hear about a new Miceller water launch. With the L'oreal one creating mixed opinions everywhere I think the launch of Garnier's counterpart was much needed, especially because it's results are far superior to that of L'oreal.

The Garnier Miceller Cleansing Water retails for £4.99 with a few Savers stores selling it for a barginous £2.99. The water is a very lightweight formula but with maximum removing power with it even wiping off the remains of waterproof mascara and eyeliner! It even puts up a fight with removing the Benefit They're Real Mascara which is an absolute pain to remove. I find this Miceller water doesn't just smear your makeup everywhere like the L'oreal one, it actually removes it and leaves your face feeling very smooth and fresh. It doesn't leave my face feeling tight or dehydrated either which is something that I've found with a lot of Miceller waters. Another thing that makes this amazing is the size, it's 400ml which is double the size of the L'oreal one for exactly the same price and with the L'oreal dispensing far too much product, it makes Garnier's a winner in every category!
Surprisingly I have never actually used the infamous Bioderma itself but I have heard this compares very well to it and I think it is a very good makeup remover and a quick all round cleanser anyway!
