Ready For Christmas: Party Dresses!?

I have come to a conclusion that being prepared is the best solution to everything so today I have a few different party dresses that I think would be amazing for the Christmas Party Season. They are all from misguided but I am not affiliated with them in anyway, I just love their dresses!

Solaine Sequin Embellished Chiffon Mini Dress - £44.99

I love this dress, I think the mix of the bodycon skirt with the chiffon top is really nice and balances the dress out. I love the sparkle and glitz of the dress and this is a recurring theme for the rest of the dresses! I also love the fact that this dress is cream as when you get some fake tan on, it looks really flattering!

Rhoa Brocade Sequin Detail Contrast Skater Dress In Black - £44.99

I feel as though this dress is less dressy than the rest of the ones I have chosen as the plain black skater skirt style tones it down, so maybe if you are going for a meal out, this one may be more appropriate! I like the long sleeves on this dress and also the gold detailing, I think it's super pretty!

Marcela Keyhole Bodycon Sequin Mini Dress In Burgundy - £39.99

This dress is pretty risqué compared to the others I have chosen, however I do think the keyhole detail adds a lot to the design of the dress. On the other hand, it does need to be accessorised correctly as this dress could look like a walking porn show if you're not careful, especially as it is quite short as well! I'd defiantly say this one isn't for the faint hearted!

Bronka Jacquard Sequin Embellished Shift Dress In Gold - £54.99

This dress is the most expensive out of the four I have chosen but unfortunately it is actually my favourite! I love the sequin detail on the dress and how it is so glitzy but it is a neutral colour! I am thinking about picking this dress up for my Work's Christmas Party this year so I will let you know!

Dry Skin Saviours!

Over the past few months, my skin has become incredibly dry and sensitive and it has not been fun, so I'm here to show you two products that have really saved my skin recently!

The first is Lush's Ultrabland Facial Cleanser - This is an oil-based cleanser that is of a yellow balm texture with a pretty horrendous smell! I tend to remove my makeup beforehand so that I get a deeper cleanse but I know some people let this product remove their make up as well as cleanse their skin. The purpose of the product is to even out your skin and to make all areas the same, for example, for everywhere to be of a normal texture, rather than the cheeks being dry and the nose and forehead being oily. I've found that this is exactly what I've been searching after and this has truly helped my skin immensely, especially in conjunction with the next product.

This is Lush's Celestial Facial Moisturiser - Firstly, this product is the best smelling beauty item ever! It smells like vanilla yogurts and it is absolutely gorgeous! Besides the smell, the moisturiser actually does a great job as well, however, I would definatly say that this is not one for you oily skinned gals out their as it is very thick and even I find it is still on the skin a few hours after it has been applied. The product was also developed for sensitive skin, which is exactly what I have so this is perfect.

I would very much recommend these two products if you have dry skin as they work great together. With the cleanser, I would also recommend it to any skin type as I know girls with oily acne-prone skin that have used this and love it!

Savvy Savings: Foundation Samples

Today I thought I'd share with you something that I find very helpful when on a tight budget but want to still try and test the latest makeup!

As of late, I've been having trouble finding the perfect foundation for my skin type and it has been increasingly difficult to find that flawless base. Therefore, I don't want to be forking out £20 every time I'd like to try something new, for it to just disappoint me!

That's where I've discovered, samples! I've been going up to high end beauty counters and asking for samples of the foundation that I'd like to try, this is great as it's free! However, I know a lot of people get very cautious around asking for samples from a counter as some of the staff can be a bit snobby, now I have found this a couple of times but at the end of the day, it's their job and you are aloud to ask for a sample, it's normal!

Up above, in my oh-so-glamourous photograph, I've got (from left to right) Mac Mineralise Moisture Foundation, Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation and Chanel Vitalumie Foundation. As the majority of you will know, these foundations are on the pricier side, so this is great that you can trial them for free! I've also found that I only like two out of the three and therefore, it was important for me to have gotten these samples.

This is also great if it's the end of the month and you've got a few days before you get paid because as I said above, you can still try and test the latest make up but for free!

Fortnight In Photos

me and bradley on the beach; me and my beautiful mum; my two gorgeous cousins; all of us in the car; me and bradley in london next to the london eye; mr bradley in hamleys; us in our hotel room; us on holiday; the london sea life centre; bradley on the bridge; our first pinkberry; bradley on our nice country walk.

These past two weeks, there's been a lot going on in my life! Last week (from 30th March to 6th April) we went on holiday down to the New Forest with all of my family and Bradley. There's a massive group of us and it's always so fun! Then earlier this week (Monday 8th April - Tuesday 9th April) Me and Bradley took a romantic trip down to London for two days, it was lovely! Then finally, we've had a chill out for the rest of the week and we took a beautiful country walk yesterday down by where we live.

Philosophy The Present Primer

Primer has always been a makeup essential for me, unlike most other people, who only use it on important occasions.

The Present by Philosophy is a thick white cream that feels quite tacky when it first sinks into the skin. It is recommended that it is left for two minutes before you apply your foundation or other skin make up. This does seem to work and I use this tip every morning when using this product.

As this primer is very tacky and quite heavy duty, I have found that out of every primer I've ever tried, this one prolongs the wear of makeup the most. However, I don't feel as if it combats oil like some other products do, although this isn't a problem for me as my skin is relatively dry.

On that, I don't find that this product worsens my dry skin at all and it doesn't cling to any dry patches. I feel as though the product glides over the skin, minimising any dry patches and also, reducing any redness or pigmentation in the skin, creating the perfect base for the rest of the face makeup.

Overall, this is a fantastic product and one in which I would highly recommend. I have repurchased this, showing just how amazing it is. It is £22 from Boots and the product contains 60ml.

Sunday Bedside Pamper

On my face tonight is one of the most raved about products, Ren Glycolatic Radiance Renewal Mask and if I'm honest, I can't quite make up my mind about it. I do like the results and how it makes my skin look after I've used it, however, when it's on my skin, it really does sting! I will defiantly do a full review soon when I've got a full opinion.

The few origins products in the above photo are the skincare products that I use on an everyday basis, they're all part of the Mega Mushroom Range. Firstly is the Mega Mushroom Skin Relief Soothing Face Cream, this is a lovely product as it's a lovely thick cream that I use both in the morning and evening, it's perfect! Next is Mega Mushroom Skin Relief Soothing Face Serum, this is a nice serum but I have preferred others, such as the Origins Make A Difference Rejuvenating Serum. Also popping in there on the right hand side is the Super Spot Remover, and at this time of the month when those pesky few spots pop up, this is exactly what I need! It does wonders and in my eyes, is the only spot treatment worth paying for!

My two lip pampering products are Lush Mint Julips Lip Scrub which I absolutely love, I love the fresh minty scent and taste and also love how great it is at just getting rid of the pesky bit's of dry skin! Hand in hand with that is the Nuxe Reve De Miel Lip Balm, which is great for using overnight and waking up in the morning with lovely lips! I have really noticed the results of this as last night I didn't use this and I woke up with horribly chapped lips so this defiantly works!

A product that I've just recently reviewed is the Soap and Glory Endless Glove Hand Mask  (Review) so I won't talk about this that much but it's a really luxurious product to use and makes you feel ultra pampered!

Lastly is the Superdrug Cranberry and Pomegranate Body Butter, now this is a bold claim but I would say these are better than the Body Shop Body Butters and at more than half the price, they're a bargain! I love how thick these body butters are and I can't explain how good they smell! This is defiantly going to be in my January Favourites!

Hope you all had a lovely pampered sunday!

My Favourite Brushes

Brushes are the one thing that in my opinion, change the way your make up not only goes on but how well it stays on and how it benefits the way your skin looks, so to me, finding the right brushes is so important!

One of my most used brushes is definatly the Real Techniques Buffing Brush from the Core Collection. This is perfect at buffing in foundation and has been a cult favourite on youtube and also on blogs. This brush is great for most skin types, however if you have very dry skin, I wouldn't recommend this as much as a buffing or stippling brush like this can buff into the dry patches on your skin and make them flake up. However, for the majority of people, this is fantastic at developing a really great flawless foundation base.

This is a newly founded brush and it's the Real Techniques Contour Brush which is also from the Core Collection. This is absolutely amazing for contouring your cheekbones with products such as Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel (Review). However, my main purpose for this brush is for applying my under eye concealer, I really enjoy using this as I get quite dry under eye's and this just buffs the concealer in in such a flawless way and doesn't create any dry patches for me!

This is the brush I use to apply my blusher and It's made by a brand that is not so often talked about, Kirkland Brushes, this brand is available in Costco stores and also online in certain places. Their brushes are great quality, usually come in sets and are reasonably priced. I use quite a few brushes from this make and this is one of my favourites. It's neither too big nor too small and as it is angled, it creates a fantastic flexibility for applying blusher.

This brush is again from Kirkland Brushes and this is the brush that I use to apply my finishing powder, it's just a really nice fluffy powder brush that I love to sweep over my face at the end of my makeup routine just to finish everything off. This brush is nothing special but I like the fact that it's not scratchy on my face, nor does it shed any hairs.

Lastly are my eye brushes. First on the left is again a brush from Kirkland Brushes and it is just a simple brush for applying a swipe of colour all over the lid. I enjoy this brush but again, it is nothing too special but it does it's job and it gives a nice colour pay off.

In the middle is a MAC 222 Brush. This is not a real MAC brush as when I first started out in makeup, I brought one of the fake MAC brush kits off of eBay and even though the face brushes were incredibly awful, the eye brushes were of a great quality and have stood me in very good stead! I love this brush and I would say it's my favourite out of every brush I own, it applies colour into the crease amazingly and just seemingly blends out the colour! I love it!

Last on the right is a Crown Deluxe Crease Brush, I purchased this from IMATS two years ago and I still love it. It's amazing for blending out colour in the crease that I've gone slightly overboard on and it really helps to create a look. I would really recommend this brush to anyone.

Also, some honourable mentions for beauty tools are also my beauty blender as I love applying my foundation with this also. Also, I enjoy using cosmetic pads to apply my powder throughout the day onto my skin as I find it prolongs my makeup longer this way!

Soap & Glory Endless Glove Hand Mask

This is a peculiar product for me and like nothing I have ever tried before. What's a hand mask I hear you ask? Well, It's an extremely moisturising and very luxurious product that just makes you feel superior.

I got this for christmas in a set along with Hand Food (which is a well known favourite of mine!) a nail file and a pair of night gloves. I think it was around £16 from boots in part of their christmas sets. This product interested me the most out of the set as you apply this and then put the gloves on for an overnight treatment.

I have eczema on some of my fingers and I usually have to use prescribed cream from the doctors but being able to use this a few times a week has been great as it not only has fixed the eczema but also made everything else super moisturised!

I do love the infamous Hand Food as well and I would recommend to use these as a pair, to have the Hand Food in your bag and keep this for a lovely overnight treatment as with the two of them, you'll never have dry hands again!

Nivea Express Hydration Primer

One of my most used products at the moment is Nivea Express Hydration Primer and I'm incredibly shocked at how great it really works!

There are two different types of this primer in the range, this one which is aimed at Normal and Combination skin and one that is aimed at Dry and Sensitive skin. I'm now glad I have this one as this is moisturising enough and I feel as though the other one would've been too much for my skin.

The consistency of these are amazing, it's a very lightweight cooling cream which blends perfectly into the skin. To apply, it feels amazing as your skin is given such a nice glow and burst of moisture.

The primer is also fantastic at prolonging the wear of my makeup throughout the day which is great as thats it's main purpose! I love the fact that even though it retails at £4.99, it still works as though it would've been a high end product.

I'm extremely happy with the results of this product and I would strongly recommend it if you're looking for a little bit more moisture under your makeup and more longevity! However, if you've got more of an oily skin type, it won't be as fantastic.
